The Flaneur Pants 👖

My first try at sewing a pair of jeans and I have to say @fridaypatterncompany made it so easy.

🪡 I chose the #flaneurpants as I thought they’d be easy to fit with the side darts and elasticated back. I made a few fit adjustments by adding 1” to the rise, 2” to the length and after trying them on I had to scoop some out the front and back crotch.

🌈 I used a stretch denim from @rainbowfabrickilburn and interfaced the front waistband to add more stability.

Overall I’m so happy with my first me-made jeans and sewing the fly was definitely less scary than it seems!

The Ivy top ☘️

I love how the #IvyTop by @julianamartejevs_official is a different take on a T-shirt.

🪡 I made the top short sleeved instead of long and didn’t make any other alterations. I overlocked the centre seam together but it’s a bit bulky so next time I would finish them separately. I also found the neck line to be fine for me after reading some people found it too high.

I used a black and white striped jersey from @roysmaterialworld and thought the stripes would give an interesting illusion with the gathering in the centre.

I’m so happy to add the Ivy top to my me-made wardrobe, it’s already been worn lots of times 🥰

🎉 Part 1 - Sewing my Birthday outfit

👕The Ivy top

For my birthday outfit this year I decided to sew an outfit instead of a new dress. I want to make things in my wardrobe that are more wearable so I’m sewing up a top, trousers and jacket!

🪡 I wanted a T-shirt top but more elevated so made up the @julianamartejevs_official #IvyTop in a striped jersey as it gives an illusion look.

👖I love this new addition to my wardrobe. Smart enough for work but the denim colour makes them casual too.

The Pietra pants 🪨

And my entry for #preciousfabric25 run by @tomkat.stitchery ✨

This fabric is precious to me as I bought it on a special trip to Vienna last year to celebrate my birthday so it will always remind me of that. The fabric is a bamboo garbedine but also has some elasticity.

🪡 I knew I wanted to make the @closetcorepatterns #pietrapants from it straight away but it took me until almost a year later and the motivation of the challenge to finally sew up the toiles and cut into my precious fabric!

So thank you @tomkat.stitchery for the motivation to sew these up 😁
